Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the factors influencing the prognosis of oral cancer in Fujian area.MethodsAll qualified patients were followed prospectively every 6 months from the time of enrollment of the patients or their family contacts.The clinical and follow-up data of 705 patients were gathered to explore the prognosis factors of oral cancer.Cox regression was used to calculate the hazard ratio and 95% confidence intervals of prognosis factors.ResultsGender, education level, alcohol drinking, family history of cancer, tumor size, tumor recurrence, diagnosis of lymph node metastasis for the first time, T stage, M stage, histological grade, surgical treatment and oral hygiene were prognostic factors affecting the overall survival of oral cancer(P<0.05).ConclusionsThere is association between gender, education level, alcohol drinking, family history of cancer, tumor size, tumor recurrence, diagnosis of lymph node metastasis for the first time, T stage, M stage, histological grade, surgical treatment and oral hygiene and the prognosis of oral cancer.
