ABSTRACT: Objective To detect the expression of osteogenesis and angiogenesis cytokines in osteoblasts cultured from the rat mandible. Methods Osteoblasts were isolated and cultured from the mandible of rats in vitro. The character of osteoblasts was assessed by ALP staining and mineralized nodules Alizarin red staining. The expressions of osteogenesis and angiogenesis cytokines of osteoblasts were evaluated using Real-time PCR and ELISA. Results ALP staining and mineralized nodules Alizarin red staining were all positive in osteoblasts cultured from the rat mandible. The expression of angiogenesis-related cytokines(VEGF,Angpt-1 and FGF-2)and osteogenesis genes(ALP,RUNX2,Col-Iα and OC)were all up-regulated in osteoblasts. Conclusion Osteoblasts may promote vascularization through angiogenesis-related cytokines secretion.
